RF Unit Converter

Convert between dBm, dBW, mW, W, dBµV, dBV, dBm/Hz and estimate S-units. Includes power ↔ voltage (select resistance in Ω).

Resistance is used to convert between power and voltage. Typical RF systems use 50 Ω.
Tip: for dB (ratio) conversion you may enter values like "20dB" or "0.1 (ratio)" in the input box — the tool will attempt to interpret the input.

Quick examples

  • dBm → mW: 0 dBm = 1 mW
  • dBm → dBuV (50 Ω): use Vrms = sqrt(P*R), then dBµV = 20·log10(V / 1µV)
  • dBm/Hz: convert by subtracting 10·log10(BW in Hz) from total-power dBm
  • S-units (approx): S9 ≈ -73 dBm (HF); 1 S ≈ 6 dB. This is an approximation used in amateur radio.
